Kasi Vibe Film Festival

KVFF was initiated in 2016 but only started to materialize in 2017. Our members; Luscious Nkantu Dosi & Tiego Mashela are honours graduate from Afda film school, both have been travelling abroad as youth ambassadors to international film festivals showcasing their work.

KVFF will have it’s own unique voice to reverberate topics of magnanimity towards the audience, so as to build cinema audience with an appreciation of local stories of South Africa. The history of Katlehong proves that in the 80s, Paragon Cinema was a well known cinema, same with Alexandra proves that Kings Cinema was an astounding cinema, where our fathers and mothers went out for sheer entertainment, but these township cinemas are all gone now and the audience has matured to satellite TV and have lost the spirit of being cinema goers. KVFF will strive to develop an audience to be consistent for the love of local stories.

OBJECTIVES

  • To bring the essence of African stories to the people.

  • To promote audio-visual communication as a keystone of nation building process.
